Cosmetics Europe Annual Conference 2021 opens its virtual doors today

  • Last updated: June 15, 2021

On 15-16 June, industry experts, policy makers, companies and other stakeholders will gather to discuss the key trends, and policy and regulatory developments of importance for the cosmetics industry. For the first time, the Cosmetics Europe Annual Conference, CEAC 2021, is taking place fully online.

“We are living through a particularly dynamic period globally and for our industry, in terms of the changing world, numerous regulatory developments, scientific challenges, and our continual quest to find new ways to meet the needs and expectations of our ever-diversifying consumers.” said John Chave, Director General of Cosmetics Europe. “CEAC 2021 comes at the perfect time to provide dedicated space and time to delve deeper into the current topics and latest trends in our sector. Thanks to the virtual format of the event, this year we are delighted to invite everyone who is interested in our industry to join the discussions; all you need is an Internet connection.”

Under the theme of “People, Planet, Products”, core pillars for the cosmetics and personal care industry, CEAC 2021 participants will have the opportunity to follow the debates, for example, on the European Green Deal and its Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability as well as its implications for cosmetics and personal care industry, empowering consumers for the green transition, the cosmetics industry’s digital future, and on many more topics.

On the occasion of the conference, Cosmetics Europe revealed the latest market performance statistics for the cosmetics and personal care industry for the year 2020. The data shows that despite the challenges and impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the European cosmetics market being valued at 76.7 billion euros, Europe remains the largest market for cosmetic products in the world. Cosmetic and personal care products, such as hand gels and soap, proved essential in responding to the crisis by helping Europeans protect themselves against infections and prevent the spread of disease. However, the role cosmetics play in boosting consumers’ well-being and enhancing their quality of life cannot be underestimated as we gradually recover from the pandemic.

As in the previous years, CEAC 2021 will feature a mix of plenary and parallel breakout sessions and virtual networking opportunities will also be provided. The programme of the conference can be found here.

The conference has been organised with the support of three sponsors: Biorius, CIRS and QACS LAB, and in cooperation with the following media and event partners: Beauty Horizons, Chemical Watch, ChemLinked, Congrès Parfums & Cosmétiques, CosmeticOBS, CosmeticsDesign-Europe, EURACTIV, HPC Today, Premium Beauty News, and SpecialChem.
