The European trade association Cosmetics Europe elected today at its 2020 General Assembly a new President and Executive Team for the 2020-2022 term of office.
Mr Hervé Toutain (L’ORÉAL) will take over from his predecessor Mr Loïc Armand as a President of Cosmetics Europe supported by Mr Charles François Gaudefroy (UNILEVER) and Mr Ronald Van Welie (NCV) continuing as Vice-Presidents and Ms Isabelle Martin (ESTÉE LAUDER) continuing as Treasurer.
“I would like to express my thanks to the Cosmetics Europe General Assembly for electing me to serve as the next Cosmetics Europe President. I am truly honoured.
The emergence of a new form of consumption and a more ethical lifestyle, the new expectations and needs of citizens increasingly aware of the problems of our planet, and the future policies associated with the Green Deal and the growth plan for Europe bring great opportunities but also some challenges for the cosmetics and personal care sector in Europe; a sector which has proved to be vital during the public health crisis. As the voice of our industry in Europe, Cosmetics Europe, in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders, should further excel to effectively address developments in our sector and help shape the future landscape in which we operate, to ensure sustainable growth”. - said Hervé Toutain, President of Cosmetics Europe.
Mr Hervé Toutain is currently a Senior Vice President for Product Stewardship and Public Affairs at L’ORÉAL, the role he took after serving 12 years in the company as Senior Vice President – Product Safety, Post-Marketing Surveillance, Regulatory Affairs and Claims. Prior to joining L’ORÉAL in 2001, Mr Hervé Toutain held senior positions in the fields of toxicology and risk assessment for drugs at Aventis-Pharma.
Mr Hervé Toutain has worked for over 15 years directly within Cosmetics Europe and is a member of Cosmetics Europe Board of Directors and Personal Care Products Council Board of Directors.
Mr Hervé Toutain is Knight of the French Order of Merit.
Cosmetics Europe would like to thank and convey its appreciation to Mr Loïc Armand, the outgoing President, for all his dedication, determination and support during the years of service to the association.
