Cosmetics Europe prepares for the future at CEAC 2023

  • Last updated: June 14, 2023

Today and tomorrow, Cosmetics Europe, the trade association representing the cosmetics and personal care industry in Europe, is hosting the latest edition of its Annual Conference, CEAC 2023. CEAC 2023 is the first CEAC to take place in-person since 2019.

Under the theme ‘Preparing for the Future’, industry experts, policy makers, companies and other stakeholders will discuss the latest cosmetic industry developments. Key topics include the Cosmetic Products Regulation, cosmetics and sustainability, understanding the microplastic restriction, global regulatory compatibility, and key business trends.

CEAC 2023 will feature a mix of plenary sessions, parallel breakout sessions and networking opportunities. The programme of the conference can be found here.

“There is nothing quite like having everyone present here today. We hope participants will find CEAC 2023 sessions engaging and insightful and the conference a great way to reconnect with old friends and meet new faces” said John Chave, Director General of Cosmetics Europe. “Our programme covers a wide range of subjects. We will delve into some of the many regulatory issues our industry confronts today and also touch upon topics such as environmental challenges, the business environment and scientific research.”

Today, Cosmetics Europe also published the latest market performance statistics for the cosmetics and personal care industry, which confirmed yet again the significant social and economic contribution of the cosmetics and personal care industry in Europe. In 2022, the European cosmetics market was valued at €88 billion. The industry supports over 3 million jobs across the European value chain, which includes more than 30,000 scientists employed in this science-driven and highly innovative sector.

The conference has been organised with the support of seven sponsors: Biorius, in-vitro efficacy and safety solution expert collaboration, CIRS, Creme Global, EPPA, QACS LAB as well as Quantis and in cooperation with the following event and media partners: Beauty Horizon, Chemical Watch, ChemLinked, The Perfumes & Cosmetics Congress, CosmeticOBS, EURACTIV, CosmeticOBS, HPC Today and Premium Beauty News
