Isabelle Martin and Birgit Huber re-elected as President and Vice-President of Cosmetics Europe

Today, at the Cosmetics Europe 2024 General Assembly, Isabelle Martin (The Estée Lauder Companies) and Birgit Huber (IKW) have both been re-elected as President and Vice-President respectively.

Today, at the Cosmetics Europe 2024 General Assembly, Isabelle Martin (The Estée Lauder Companies) and Birgit Huber (IKW) have both been re-elected as President and Vice-President respectively. They will be supported by the new Executive Committee throughout their two-year mandate.

“The appointment of Cosmetics Europe’s President, Vice-President and Executive Committee comes at an important time: the beginning of a new institutional cycle and a new European political agenda. The implementation of the Green Deal legislation and supporting the industry in its sustainability journey will be some of our key priorities for the next two years. At the same time, we hope that EU policy makers will focus on keeping our industry competitive under the new legislative mandate. In fact, European policies play a critical role in ensuring that an industry like ours can maintain a leading position in the global market.  We also hope for an appreciation from the policymakers of the significant social and economic contribution the industry provides to people in Europe.’’ said Isabelle Martin, President of Cosmetics Europe.

Our products ultimately play an essential role in people’s daily livesMy focus for this next two years will be to work with our pan-European network of associations, members of Cosmetics Europe, to raise awareness in each Member State of the importance of our products for society.’’ said Birgit Huber, Vice-President of Cosmetics Europe. 

Isabelle Martin has served two years as President of Cosmetics Europe. She is currently Vice-President for Public Affairs for the EMEA region at The Estée Lauder Companies. Before joining The Estée Lauder Companies in 2003, she was Director for Legal and International Affairs at Colipa (later Cosmetics Europe), . Isabelle is a lawyer by education with a PhD degree in European law from the University of Rennes (France) and a post-graduate diploma in EU law from the College of Europe (Bruges, Belgium). 

Birgit Huber has served two years as Vice-President of Cosmetics Europe. She is Deputy Director at IKW, the German Cosmetic, Toiletry, Perfumery and Detergent Association. Before joining IKW in 1985, she studied food technology at Stuttgart-Hohenheim University. Birgithas been a member of various scientific and technical working groups, such as the German Cosmetics Commission at BfR (Federal Institute for Risk Assessment) and the Information Network of Departments of Dermatology (IVDK). 

During their 2024-2026 mandate, the President and Vice-President of Cosmetics Europe will be supported by the following members of the new Executive Committee: 

  • Anne Laissus-Leclerc, Treasurer (LVMH) 

  • Esperanza Troyano, Chair of Active Corporate Members College (Procter and Gamble) 

  • Sari Karjomaa Chair of Active Association Members College (Kosmetiikka- jahygieniateollisuusry) 

  • Pascal Berthe, Vice-Chair of Active Corporate Members College (L’Oréal) 

  • Luca Nava, Vice-Chair of Active Association Members College (Cosmetica Italia)
